Enjoyed working with this wonderful person at Baylor College of Medicine. There was no doubt she was going to climb that ladder.
Did not even know this was a uniformed service until this week.
USPHS took care of RCMP when their mounts had hoof issues from the change in pavement material and US' breeding livestock epidemics.
You all need to be allowed firearms. Congress banned it in late 1800's and Public Health has been declining ever since.
I plan on joining the US Public Health Service after I graduate nurse practitioner school in December

The USPHS falls under the Umbrella of HHS along with other government agencies.
Commission is affiliated with Dept of Education or Defense when Human Services is affiliated with Dept of Justice and the Congress. That's my understanding. I'm a civilian patient.
Either commissioned or not, you'll be addressed as an Officer regardless.
Is the Ready Reserve like a part time thing for the USPHS like National Guard is to the Army?
Yes, the Ready Reserve is a reserve unit.

This is my aunt and one of my hero’s. She has inspired me to become a medical professional. I remember her as a kid she always talked about how much she loved her job. She has overcome amazing adversity as a woman of color and she will go down in the history books.
I agree with you about Dr. Jones being noted in history. The recognition has already begun.
